Postscript

As a postscript to this mornings butterfly excitement, see below, after tea, popped to Shapwick Heath NNR to see if the Osprey was still there. It may be but I didn't see it. Did have a nice Common Tern (147) though (that white blob in the centre of the picture below!!). The place was alive with warblers though, with a lovely view of a Sedge Warbler just feet away.

And of course the Grey Herons, always there, but I do like them

Well it's been a long day, a hot day too, and I seem to have grown 30 feet since breakfast. So as Zeberdee said, "time for bed everybody, time for bed"

  1. Has there been an Osprey in Dorset recently? I saw a pair in August the year before last but nothing recently.Good reading your blog and the photos are really good too. You said that maybe the birds go into our window if they can see another light but no we dont have any other window opposite or near. Thankfully they are behaving better now! BW Goosey
